Privacy Policy

Updated 17 August 2026

The short version

  • We collect your name, email, phone number, and bank details so we can credit your savings and pay you out.
  • We never sell your data, and we never show your savings or history to another member.
  • Receipts you upload are private, and are kept as the record that settles any dispute.
  • We keep your records for seven years after your last payout, because they are financial records.
  • You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
  • If you close your account, Princess keeps a private record of your details so old payments can still be traced.

What we hold, and why

Your name, email address and phone number
To identify your account, sign you in, and reach you about your savings.
The name of anyone who pays on your behalf
So a relative or friend paying for you can find your plan without an account of their own.
Your bank name, account number and account name
To pay out your savings in December. Payouts go only to an account in your own name.
Your plan, contributions, and payment history
This is the record of what you have saved. It is what your statement is built from.
Receipts you upload
To confirm a transfer against the business bank statement, and to settle any later question about a payment.
Notifications and reminders we have sent you
So we do not send you the same reminder twice.

That is the whole list. We do not ask for your BVN, your NIN, or a copy of your ID, and we never see your bank password.

Who is responsible for your data

Save with Princess is the data controller. If you have a question about your data, or want to make any of the requests below, contact us on WhatsApp or at princessonlinethrift@gmail.com.

Why we are allowed to hold it

We hold your savings and payment records because we need them to perform the agreement you entered into when you joined a plan. We hold your bank details for the same reason — we cannot pay you without them. Where you have given us something we do not strictly need, you can withdraw it at any time.

Who can see it

Only you and the administrator. Other members cannot see your balance, your history, or your bank details — the app is built so that a member's records are only ever readable by that member. Nobody outside Save with Princess is given your data, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Where it is kept

Your records are held in a managed database, and your receipts in private storage that requires a signed, expiring link to open. Both are provided by Supabase and may be stored outside Nigeria. Email is sent through Resend. These providers process your data on our instructions only.

How long we keep it

Savings and payment records are financial records, so we keep them for seven years after your final payout. Receipts are kept for as long as the payment they prove. If you close your account before then, we keep the financial record and remove the rest.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete what we are not required to keep, and object to how we are using it. Ask us on WhatsApp or by email and we will respond within 30 days. You can also download your own statement at any time from your profile.

Closing your account

You can close your account yourself, under Profile → Security. Your sign-in stops working and your name, phone number and bank details are taken out of the app, so they no longer appear anywhere on your savings. The record of what you contributed and what you were paid stays, with your name removed, because those are financial records covered by the seven years above. We can't close an account while savings are still waiting to be paid out — that record is what gets your money to you, so Princess pays you first and closes it after.

What we still hold after you close

One thing survives a closure, and we'd rather say so than imply otherwise: a private record of your name, phone number, email and payout account, kept for the same seven years. Only Princess can open it, and it exists so an old payment of yours can still be traced or a question about one settled after your account is gone — a transfer can land against your name months later. It is never used to contact you about saving again. You can ask her to erase it once the seven years have passed, and you can ask to see it at any time.

If something goes wrong

If your data is ever exposed in a way that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. You can also complain to the Commission directly if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.

Keeping your account safe

We will never ask you for your password, and we will never send you a different account number in a private message. Every payment account is shown inside the app. If someone contacts you claiming otherwise, it is not us.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.

Ask us about your data

Message us on WhatsApp (8am–8pm, 7 days a week), or email princessonlinethrift@gmail.com. You can also read our Terms of Service.
